President Uhuru Kenyatta arrives in Kisumu


President Uhuru Kenyatta has already arrived Kisumu in the company of First Lady Margret Kenyatta. President is expected to preside over the 56th Mashujaa day.

President Uhuru was received by Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o. The president will be heading to Kakamega where preparations are expected to be complete ahead of Mashujaa day celebrations.

This year Mashujaa day will be celebrated at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.

Celebrations in County level arrived at a Cabinet meeting. This being the first celebration in the western part of Kenya.

President Geingob of Namibia who visited the country today is expected to join Kenyans in Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega to celebrate Mashujaa day.

Already, four Governors, MPS, and MCAs have arrived in Sieywe (Kakamega).

Last year celebrations were held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi County barely five days to the repeat of a presidental election that had been nullified by Supreme Court.

On another hand, National Super Alliance (NASA) held a parallel event in Siaya and Kisumu County to honor the victims of extrajudicial killings.

Mashujaa day celebrations happen on every 20th October. It was previously known has Kenyatta day.

During the celebrations, the president awards citizens who have performed well in various fields with Honours.

This year most people have come out to request the president through social media to award, AP constable Joash Force Number 234433. The AP on 18th October chased some robbers along Villa Rosa Kempinski to Parklands.

He was able to recover a sum of Ksh.400,000 and shooting seven times without hurting anyone. Most Kenyans on Social Media advocated for the constable to receive presidential Honour.

Last year the president faced a lot of criticism for honoring Githeri Man, Robert Alai, Jacque Marine, and Ben Gethi.

Githeri Man who received a lot of attention from local and international media ended up in Rehabilitation Center.
