Detectives investigating the murder of Monica Nyawira Kimani arrested one more suspect. The elite squad suspect Orlando has been on run for past three weeks.

A Recce Squad officer by name Jennings Okoth Orlando was arrested on Thursday evening.

The suspect who made the Homicide detectives camp a couple of days in Mombasa is believed to have been in the company of ‘Jowie’. On a fateful day, the gruesome murder occurred.

Orlando is believed having not traveled to Mombasa instead booked a vehicle and left his mobile phone in the vehicle. Some sources indicate that Orlando had gone to Mombasa for spiritual cleaning.

  1. However, the suspect is instead suspected to have traveled to Kakamega instead.

The suspect was arrested Thursday night in Ruiru Recce Staff Compound.

He spent a night at Muthaiga Police station. On Friday morning he was taken to Homicide Unit in CID headquarters where a parade was carried out. Our sources tell us that he was identified by three witnesses.

It’s also said that even Brian Kasaine also mentioned Jennings Orlando.

The suspect from the Elite squad was aligned to Kiambu Law Court for charges over the murder of Monica Kimani. However, the prosecution through an affidavit requested for more time to conduct intensive investigations.

The suspect was later taken to DCI headquarters for interrogation then back to Recce Squad quarters. The investigating overs had to go through his house for any evidence.

It’s believed that Orlando had the knife that was used to kill Monica Kimani. The knife used in the murder was being won by Joseph Irungu on his hand like a bangle.

During the arrest the office was working with USA embassy, Gigiri as a security officer attached from Recce Squad.

Meanwhile other two suspects, Joseph Irungu alias ‘Jowie’ and Jacque Marine, a royal media journalist who were held in connection with the murder. Are expected to appear in court on 24th October on bail hearing.

The two had taken a plea of not been guilty.
