China’s President Xi Jinping just revealed that China knew about the danger of #Coronavirus weeks before it became known to the public. But his officials in Wuhan continued to play ou with the danger and lives of people. The China Leader has faced a lot of criticism from the World Health Organization(WHO) of not working towards fighting Covid-19 despite WHO praising him during earlier times.

That new account of events risks drawing China’s President Xi Jinping, one of the most powerful leaders in decades, directly into questions about whether his top officials did too little, too late.

In an internal speech published on Saturday, President Xi said he had “issued demands about the efforts to prevent and control” the coronavirus on Jan. 7, during a meeting of the Politburo Standing Committee, the highest council of the Communist Party, whose sessions are typically cloaked in secrecy.

“I have at every moment monitored the spread of the epidemic and progress in efforts to curtail it, constantly issuing oral orders and also instructions,” President Xi Jinping was reported saying on Monday. But some critics say that the speech was defensive and he is trying to change the narrative which until this point has been very unfavorable to the top leadership

Like George Orwell once wrote: “Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past…”

According to leaks from China’s state-controlled press over the weekend, President Xi Jinping had issued orders to contain the deadly coronavirus outbreak almost two weeks earlier than the public had previously known, according to leaked details from a “secret speech” Xi gave to national leaders commanding them to suppress the virus by any means necessary.

Under pressure from the global community, President Xi Jinping is pushing to show that he fighting the outbreak. Due to this, the President who made the first appearance since the first the Covid-19 was made public to the world. He even visited the health centers where the patients are receiving medication and are quarantined in.

The Coronavirus so far has officially infected more than 69,000 people and killed more than 1,750 worldwide, the vast majority in mainland China that is in Wuhan a city that hosts 11 million people.

President Xi Jinping is reported not be accepting criticism and one of his fierce critic, a professor who has not been happy how the situation was being handled in the ground wrote this,  ‘This may be the last piece I write’.

The Chinese professor Xu Zhangrun, who published a rare public critique of President Xi over China’s coronavirus crisis, has later barred from social media, and friends have not been able to contact him for several days and his whereabouts are not known.

Several world leaders have warned of the unpreparedness of China and other countries and how the issue is being handled.
